JOHN HYDE
I am a Calgary, Alberta, Canada bass player. I play a 1972 Fender
Precision and a 300 year old Italian bass. I currently teach atMount Royal College in the Conservatory
in the Jazz Studies program as well as the diploma program in the
Jazz/Contemporary stream.I have played on many CD's including Cindy Church's
Love On
The Range , and Karl Roth's "Everybody Want's to be a Cat".
Performance credits include: Tommy Banks, Marion McPartland, Christian
Escoudier, New Works Calgary, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cold Club
of Canada and many others.
I have a strong interest in computers used in educational
applications. I work in Macromedia's Authorware to develop courseware in
jazz theory and improvisation.
