This year marks the second year of the Sled Island Music Festival in Calgary and the first year for the Official Compilation CD. This special collector's edition features 19 of the 180 bands performing at 24 venues from June 25 to 28 (see: www.sledisland.com for more details). A limited number of CDs are available on a first come first served basis at our Canada Disc offices in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Victoria for anyone who missed out on getting a copy at the Festival.

The project was coordinated by our very own Dayna Lozowchuk from our Saskatoon office and includes tracks from: Seven Story Readhead, Woodpigeon, Beija Flor, Aaron Booth, The Wet Secrets, Bil Heatherington & The Asian Tigers, Gutterawl, Shuyler Jansen, Junior Pantherz, Mantrakid, Women, The Blood Lines, The Warbrides, Dragon Fli Empire, The Whitsundays, Clinton St. John, Ricca Razor Sharp, These Hands and Jane Vain & The Dark Matter.

The compilation was mastered by Richard Harrow at www.audiomastering.com and drawings & stuff were supplied by: www.twyladrawn.com In order to create awareness of our eco-friendly packaging solutions, the CD jacket was printed on 100% recycled paperboard with a water based finish. Thanks to Nancy Tompkinson, Andrew McDonald, Andrew Shevchik and Sacha Keifer for their assistance.

Special thanks to Jenny McClelland who first introduced us to Sled Island last year and inspired this project. And, a shout-out to Derek McEwen, Chris Evans, Zak Pashak and the entire Sled Island team for organizing such an amazing celebration of Indie Music.
