December 2005:
News
To wrap up this year, we'd like to extend a long overdue welcome to some new staff members at Canada Disc & Tape. After spending four years playing in a rock band where he "developed a fine appreciation for Boogie Vans and sleeping on other people's floors" Brad Pichette decided to park that van at the beginning of this year and join us as a customer service rep in our Edmonton office.
An avid soccer fan (Go Liverpool) Brad likes Irn Bru which he claims is an obscure Scottish soft drink that has the same basic flavor as sucking on a 20 year old penny! We figured that anyone who likes Irn Bru would fit right in with people who just aren't satisfied with having several hundred assorted teas kicking around the office (although we've never had anything that tastes a bit like old money).
Another new addition is Sacha who joined our graphics department in Calgary this spring. Sacha is a graphics wiz who also has a passion for Hot Wheels. He shares the distinction of having the same birthday as our audio mastering engineer, Richard Harrow (May 6) as does Ashleigh Marie Vanloon (left, with Liane) who was born earlier this year to a very happy Liane Schild (currently on maternity leave from our Calgary office).

Liane's fiancé is Chad Vanloon who owns and operates the Blue House Restaurants in both Calgary and Canmore (we highly recommend both establishments)! Congratulations also go out to Lori Lisitza and her husband Cliff. Their daughter, Elizabeth Gailene Ann Lisitza (right) was born on July 19, 2005 and joins big sister Zoe who can't wait for the next Hillary Duff concert.
And, while Lori is on maternity leave from our Saskatoon office, we'd like to welcome Dayna Lozowchuk to our ever growing team. Dayna and her husband Stu own a used record store in Saskatoon called "The Vinyl Diner". Dayna uses her extensive knowledge of obscure bands by playing games of "Stump Don" (that's Don Warkentin our Saskatoon Branch Manager) to her endless amusement. Dayna & Stu enjoy retro furniture and their two dogs Jesse & Lucy.
Newsflash: wow, the baby boom at Canada Disc & Tape continues with Sacha's wife Amanda giving birth early to Derek Alexander Kiefer on December 16, 2005. According to Sacha, their new son is "healthy, happy and a wonderful early Christmas gift." And what a fabulous way to wrap up 2005!!
Please note that all our offices will be closed at noon on Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 for Christmas holidays and will reopen on Monday, January 2, 2006. In the meantime, all of us at Canada Disc & Tape Inc., DVD Masters and audiomastering.com would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
