This month we are proud to announce the release of Hold Your Ground IV. Once again, producer Gerald Wheatley has assembled some of the finest talent in Alberta to encourage people to take a stand and get involved in the world. They join a wonderful alumni from the 3 previous releases which are all included in a limited edition box set featuring a total of 65 artists.
Hold Your Ground is a musical project that links community development work to the socially-conscious music of some of Alberta's best-loved artists. For the first time, concrete community activism will be linked to the music that inspires it. The CD series features various music styles and themes but all the contributions were created to both entertain and provoke thought.
These musicians, artists, designers, organizers and music professionals have all donated their time and talents because they are passionate about social and environmental issues. This art and music is designed to show how nature and society are connected, and that we need to revolutionize the way we think about our place on this planet.
All 4 CDs help to raise the profile of community development and, more specifically, will be a benefit for the Activist Network, a free subscriber-based events listing service for community development events that has been run by volunteers since its inception in 1999.
The Activist Network is a valuable resource for individuals and small community groups to promote their social justice events across Alberta to citizens, government, and the media. As they say, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything." To purchase the CDs, visit: http://cd.activist.ca/boxset.html
