Alberta.cow compilation

Alberta.Cow is a private showcase of Alberta musicians organized by a hard-working volunteer collective of promoters and producers from Alberta folk and roots festivals, clubs and media. This year, Canada Disc & Tape is proud to be a sponsor so we can help some great Alberta talent gain more exposure on the international stage!

In February 2001 Alberta.Cow presented a very popular showcase at the International Folk Alliance Conference in Vancouver. Over a dozen acts were highlighted, and many of these individuals and groups went on to play various festivals and venues across North America as a result of the showcase.

Buoyed by their previous success, Alberta.Cow showcased of some of Alberta's finest folk and roots artists at the Folk Alliance Conference which was held this year in Montreal from February 24-27, 2005. In addition to the showcase, a compilation CD was produced featuring tracks from the various artists that performed.

From traditional folk to country, Celtic to blues, world beat to alt.oldtimey, and even some acts that defy categories, the Alberta.Cow CD features: Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, Kris Demeanor & His Crack Band, Maria Dunn, John Wort Hannam, Rembetika Hipsters, No Guff, Wendy McNeil, Dave McCann, Mike Stack, AA Soundsystem, Karla Anderson, Tim Williams, The McDades, Bill Bourne and Eivor Palsdottir.
