August 2004: ![]() NewsOur DVD division continues to grow with the addition of Smita Acharyya (smita@dvdmasters.com) in the closed captioning department of DVD Masters (www.dvdmasters.com). Prior to joining our team, Smita produced the film Superhero Wannabe which was selected to screen at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. She also wrote Viva Bengali, a one hour documentary which was nominated for an AMPIA award. Smita continues to be actively involved as a board member for Women In Film and Television Alberta and is a volunteer for the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers as well as the Calgary International Film Festival. Kim Barker (kim@candisc.com) moves over to sales and customer service this month to help manage the increasing number of clients using the services of both Canada Disc & Tape and DVD Masters. ![]() Other areas of growth include our Edmonton office where the second floor development has been completed to accommodate an audio mastering facility headed by Chris Sturwold of This Is Oddyo Inc. Having completed over 250 audio mastering projects to date, Chris is certainly one of the most popular mastering engineers around.
