News

Signe OlynkWe are pleased to welcome Signe Olynk (signe@dvdmasters.com) to our DVD division as our new Director of Business Development for DVD Masters. Signe comes to us with a background in writing and producing documentaries, feature films and television series in both Canada and the USA.

She has written and developed more than forty projects and her credits include: "Project Cougar", a docudrama for Discovery Channel about cougar attacks throughout North America, the pilot for "Suzuki's World" which is a travel series for CBC featuring David Suzuki and a six part series for Access and the Learning Skills Television Network.

In an effort to help content creators market their work, Signe also founded the highly successful Great Canadian PitchFest (held annually in Banff) and the Great American PitchFest (held annually in Los Angeles). Now at DVD Masters, she is looking forward to helping others in the industry convert their work to DVD and to sell their movies and programs internationally.

New equipment

Not only do we handle the authoring, encoding, menu design and replication of DVDs, we also provide a number of related services making DVD Masters the ideal "one stop" shop for DVD. These include closed captioning and 5.1 surround sound audio mixing and mastering. In response to numerous requests from our video clients, we've recently added a considerable number of high end Sony video recorders.

We now offer dubbing and transferring services between the following formats: Digital Betacam, Betacam SP and DVCAM. Due to the high cost of ownership for professional decks, it is sometimes more cost effective to outsource the making of master or archive copies so we are pleased to be able to provide this new service to our clients.
