June 2004: News
John Wort Hannam will receive manufacturing of 500 CDs from Canada Disc & Tape for the Best Original Song "Church of the Long Grass". Richard Brown won Best Song by a Newcomer for the track "You Can Never Tell". His prize is 20 hours of recording time at Sundae Sound and one day of mastering at our in-house facility: www.audiomastering.com. Both winners also receive $500.00 cash, a 4-day Folk Festival Pass, and a Festival performance of their song. We'd like to thank Dave Muir and all the organizers for putting on such a highly successful event! On the international front, we'd also like to thank Mark Knopfler's manager Paul Crockford for choosing Canada Disc & Tape to handle the replication for the 21st Century Schizoid Band's "Live in Japan" DVD and the "Live In Italy" CD. As fans know, this group is comprised of 3 former members of King Crimson: Mel Collins, Peter Giles and Ian McDonald (who was also a founding member "Foreigner") along with ex-Level 42 guitarist Jakko Jakszyk and Bob Dylan's tour drummer: Ian Wallace.
Before we wrap up the news for this month, we'd like to remind our clients that all our offices will be closed on Thursday, July 1 for Canada Day.
