April 2004: News![]() Canada Disc & Tape and our sister company DVD Masters are proud sponsors of this year's Ad Rodeo -- a celebration of creative excellence in the Calgary advertising community. At a gala held in the Imperial Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency, our general manager Alex Netelenbos awarded the coveted "Anvil" to Rare Method for the "Best Digital Online Website". Liane Schild presented the "Anvil" to Highwood Communications for the "Best Digital Offline" on behalf of DVD Masters. We congratulate all the winners and would like to extend a special thanks to Paul Vella, Lori Dudder, January Kohli and Margie Hope for making it a memorable evening for all who attended. ![]() Kudos goes out to Tom Short who helped to co-ordinate the DVD containing the winning TV and radio commercials. This was the first year that a DVD was included in the program given to the guests and it was a huge success. Although newspaper ads, billboards, and posters work well when reproduced in a static medium such as a printed program, being able to view the actual TV spots and hear the radio commercials is an added bonus. There are all sorts of ways to use optical discs to complement traditional forms of media. We also have a wide range of packaging solutions available for combining the two.
