Mocking Shadows discs

Whether you're an independent musician or an independent film producer, there's likely to be a DVD project for you in near future and we have the expertise to assist you from concept to completion! With the growing concerns over downloading and music piracy even the major labels have jumped onto the DVD bandwagon by including videos on a "bonus disc" bundled with new CD releases.

DVD music videos are growing in popularity and one indie band taking the lead is Mocking Shadows who have just released a DVD of a "live" concert entitled Out of the Blue to tie in with their CD of the same name. Besides the 12 songs on the CD, the DVD also contains 3 bonus tracks which will help generate extra sales of the video release.

'War Bride' disc

A music video can be compared to a short film in many ways and those indie film makers looking to gain recognition for their skills have a great vehicle in the Seven Minute Film Festival www.sevenminutefilmfest.org held in Canmore, Alberta every year. As the name suggests, all entries must be 7 minutes in length (including the titles and credits). Our DVD division, DVD Masters (www.dvdmasters.com) is one of the proud sponsors of this event and we look forward to seeing all of the participants becoming successful in the field film and video production!

One Calgary film producer who has already gained international recognition is Doug Berquist of DB Entertainment. His film, The War Bride which was previously released theatrically in Canada and Europe is now available on a Special Edition DVD in Canada. Based on a true story, this movie was nominated for 7 Genie Awards (winning two) and won the Crystal Heart Award in 2001. It was also chosen as the Best Motion Picture at the Heartland Film Festival and is now available online at: www.warbride.com
